This is the color of the background in the menu box. If this is the
same as either the Menu Text Color or the System Heading Color certain
portions of your menu descriptions will not be legible.

This is the name of the menu. You must use only letters & numbers with
no spaces. This is used to create a file to store the menu options in.
The file has the extension .Mxx, where xx is the version of the menu
system you are using.

This is the color your current choice on the menu is displayed in.
The current selected option is displayed in the System Heading
Color, the background in the color selected here.

Easy Access allows 2 different screen display formats, options 1 & 2.
Option 1 assigns letters automatically beginning with the letter 'A'.
Option 2 uses the first letter of your description as the option letter.
If you are unclear about this try one, and then the other. The difference
in the menu display will be obvious.

This is the program flag, the computer wants 1 of 3 things here, they
are: P - Pause, this causes the computer to ask you to hit a key
before it returns to the menu after running your program.
This can be useful if you need to see what is on the screen
after exiting your program.
C - Command line, the computer will ask you for the command
line your program needs to run properly. Example, you have
setup an option on the menu to backup your disk, the
program name is BACKUP, but you need to tell it what to
backup. This option also pauses before returning to the
menu. The command is only effective on the 1st program
line.
N - No special processing, you will probably
use this 90% of the time. It does not have to be an
'N' any character other than a 'C' or 'P' will work
the same.

This is used in conjunction with Screen Time Out. When the screen
times out this is the message that will be displayed to inform the
operator of this fact.
A blank message here will leave the screen entirely dark when the
screen times out.

This lets the menu know if you want to keep track of when each program
on your menu was last run. Effectively this enables/disables the F3 key
from the main menu.
A slight increase in the speed of Easy Access is gained by answering 'N'
to this question.

This is the user's access list. It is used in conjunction with the
access code on each menu option to decide if a user is allowed to
run that option. A blank list allows the user access to all options
regardless of that options access code.

This is the access code. It is used in conjunction with the access
codes on the user definition to decide if a user is allowed to run
a particular program. The code (a letter A-Z) entered here must be
in the users access code list for the user to be allowed to run this
program.
If users are not enabled then this entry is ignored.

This is the description that will appear on the menu screen.

If this field is left blank there are no restrictions on who may use
this option. If you enter 1 character here it is considered to be an
access code, the user must have this code in his/her list to be able
to run this program/sub-menu. Anything else is considered to be a
password, the password must be entered correctly before the user will
be allowed to run this option. Passwords are case sensitive. If you
enter your password in lower case it must always be entered in lower case.

This is an additional help/description field for this option. It will
display below the menu when this option is highlighted.

This is the type of menu option this is to be. There are 3 types:
H - Menu Heading, this displays a line of text within the body of the
menu. It can not be chosen by the user as an actual option. This
is designed to make the menus easier to read & give more control
over how & where things are displayed.
P - Program Option, this is used to attach programs to the menu. Easy
Access considers any DOS command and files with the extensions BAT,
COM, & EXE to be programs.
M - Sub-Menu Option, this is used to define a menu that is accessed from
this menu.

To choose this key to edit just hit the enter key, otherwise use the
arrow keys to get to the deisired key.

This option enables/disables the user defined function keys. If you enter
'N' here Easy Access will not display nor allow access to the user defined
function keys.

This tells Easy Access where to return to after running an application.
If you enter 'N' here Easy Access will always return to the top menu with
the 1st option highligted even if you ran your application from a sub-menu.
A 'Y' here will always return you to the menu you ran the application from.

Enter your password, it does not appear on the screen, if you make a
mistake just try again.

This is the batch file name used to invoke the menu system. If you
have a conflict with other programs that are called 'MENU', you may
change the name here.

here, otherwise hit the Enter key and information on all users will
be accessed.

If you want to see when & by whom a particular program has been run
enter the program name here.

This is the date to begin searching for data, all records prior to
this date will be ignored.

will be ignored.

This is a 24 hour time, so 2 PM should be entered as 1400, all records
between 0000 and this time will be ignored.

If you no longer have any need for the data in the log file enter a 'Y'
here and the file will be cleared of all past data. You should clear
the file periodically because the file just keeps getting bigger and
bigger.

This is the user's sign on, I would recommend using a persons first name.
This is not a password and does appear on the screen as they type it.
If you hit the Enter key here the first sign on will be displayed. You
can scroll through all of the entries by hitting the Enter key.
F10 takes you back to the menu.

This is the users full name, or something that you recognize as being
directly associated with this person.

This is their password, they must know both their sign on and password
to be able to access the system. The password is not displayed on the
screen when they enter it.

Is this user allowed to set up and modify other users ?
Keep in mind that if you enter a 'Y' here they can delete YOU from the
menu system.

This allows the user to modify the configuration file. This is as
critical as allowing someone to add/modify other users.

Is this user allowed to add, modify, or delete menus ? If not do not
enter a 'Y' here.

Do you want this user to have access to the usage report ? Keep in mind
that this shows when and what YOU have been doing on the system.
Usage reporting only works if you have answered 'Y' to usage log in the
configuration.

Do you want this user to have access to DOS ? If not, enter 'N', if you
do, enter 'Y'.
You can not stop the determined user from getting to DOS. When first
booting the system hitting CTRL-C will allow the user to terminate
Autoexec.bat, thus leaving them in DOS. Also if you use the 'P' or 'C'
option in setting up a menu item, the user can hit CTRL-C when the
computer asks them to 'hit any key to continue'.
